The 1979 Hurst Oldsmobile 442 W-30 is one of those special edition cars that payed tribute to the muscle car era. If you’ve always wanted to drive one of those Hurst Oldsmobiles with the dual gate shifters, here is a chance to get involved at a very low cost. A 1979 Hurst Oldsmobile 442 W-30 has been listed on the Cars On Line website for sale by a private owner in Sarasota, Florida. (Click this link to view his ad.) In fact, 1979 was the last year that the dual gate shifter was available. The ad says it comes with the 350 ci V8, all numbers matching, 350 Automatic Dual Gate transmission package, 71k actual miles, air conditioned, all gauges, with Saddle vinyl Bucket Seat interior and a console. This one was purchased with collectibility in mind because they say it was garage kept all its life. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week if it lasts that long. The asking price is only $16,900. This is a very collectible car. This Hurst special edition is one of only 1,165 ever produced.
In his ad description, the owner says his 1979 Hurst Oldsmobile 442 W-30 stops traffic wherever he goes. There is just nothing like it on the road today. It is equipped with a 350/350 V8 engine with the Hurst dual gate transmission package. The owner says the car has just 71k actual miles, and comes with air conditioning, full gauge package, saddle vinyl bucket seats, and a console with shifter. It was built at the Indiana Olds Plant Center. Only 2,499 miles since total build, Positraction rear, power brakes and power steering, tachometer in instrument cluster.
