We learned this week that Erica Ender’s 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster would be listed on the Cars On Line website for sale. This is the hot rod that Gregg Enders, Erica’s father, had redone for his daughter. (You can view the ad at this link.) Erica Enders is the two-time NHRA Pro Stock champion and her dad runs Enders Hot Rod Garage in Montgomery, Texas. This ’32 Deuce Roadster was a tribute to one of the great female drag racers in our history.
The current owner of Erica Ender’s 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster tells us that it is in 99 percent show quality condition. The aesthetics of the car are highlighted by its all-steel body. What makes this car special are its knod to hot rod history. The equipment includes: 40 Ford-style dash, Duvall windshield, stainless grille in steel shell, shaved door handles, hidden door hinges, removable soft top in tan Hartz cloth and an engraved quick release steering wheel.
The ’32 Deuce Roadster was originally built by Kenny’s Rod & Kustom based on a Hot Rods & Horsepower body. They were affiliated with and did work for Dearborn Deuce. They did not scrimp on top end equipment. It starts with a Fatman chassis, Fatman chassis, Pete & Jake’s all-chrome front suspension and shocks with tubular axle and polished billet Wilwood disc brakes; rear end housing is a fully polished stainless steel Ford 9″ with an aluminum 3rd member and 3.56 gears. The polished stainless 2-link bars connect to a Panhard bar. They used aluminum coil-over shocks and Aerospace billet discs on the rear.
The current seller tells us the Erica Ender’s 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster remains with less than 4k miles on it today. “I purchased this car from Gregg Enders,” he said. “It now comes with a clear title in my name. It shows Gregg Enders (Erica’s father) as the previous owner. I also have a copy of the previous title with Gregg Enders as the owner. I also have the email contact of the Enders Hot Rod Garage employee who is responsible for transforming the car to it’s current look.” He says the original builder may be contacted for more information.
The 15″ Halibrand wheels come fully polished with knockoff lug covers. The entire chassis and floorpan have been painted the same Chrysler metallic blue as the body. That is an indication that this build was meant to show. It has 15″ Halibrand wheels fully polished on both sides with knockoff lug covers. The car is shod in BFG 285/70 tires in back and 195/65’s in front.
The 468 Chevy Big Block engine is spectacular in its chromed elegance. Note the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, dual polished Edelbrock carbs on an Endura-Shine coated Edelbrock intake. It has a mild hydraulic cam. Jet Hot Coated and baffled headers surround the engine compartment. It has a fully automatic TH350 transmission. Listen to the engine in the video below:
