DEAL OF THE DAY PREVIEW

In the popular DEAL of the DAY preview we give you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY “rear view mirror” seen daily on the Cars On Line home page. Our fans wait eagerly each day to see which bargains will be highlighted. But often these cars sell right here in the newsletter before they have a chance to be viewed on the front page. If you aren’t a newsletter subscriber you’ll never know what you’re missing. Newsletter readers are able to preview the best bargains on our website right here in the DEAL of the DAY feature. You’ll always see it here first.

1966-Dodge-ChargerI remember seeing my first glimpse of the Dodge Charger when it was featured on Wide World of Sports on a Saturday afternoon. That was back when Jim McKay was ABC’s host. That body style was so advanced, I remember thinking there was nothing like it anywhere. To this day I still get excited when I see a 1966 Dodge Charger like the one featured here from Durand, Michigan. That futuristic looking exaggerated slantback styling was way ahead of its time. The owner must sell due to health reasons. She says it has the high performance 383 big block motor with a rebuilt 727 auto with shift kit, 323 positrac rear end, power steering, manual brakes, nice Cragar SS wheels, new carpet, new stock seat covers, nice dual exhaust system and HP manifolds. It will be our featured DEAL of the DAY for Saturday. The price is $14,500.

1947-Lincoln-ContinentalThe massive amount of chrome on the front valance and the art deco period design are the main reasons why Frank Lloyd Wright said the Lincoln Continental was ‘the most beautiful car he had ever seen.’ Yet Classic Trader Net has just listed a 1947 Lincoln Continental from Yuma, Arizona at a very affordable price. For a Lincoln collector this may be the opportunity of a lifetime. Of course, it has the Continental kit which was named after Lincoln’s popular signature design. They say it has only 38,000 miles. This one has a Flathead V8 instead of the V12 motor. It will be Sunday’s DEAL of the DAY because the price is right. The asking price is $28,900.

1963.5-Ford-Galaxie-500-XLIf you read our top banner story above about the 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 XL from Utah you know how valuable these big block Ford muscle cars can be. If that one is a little too pricey, don’t worry, here is another that may fit your budget. Top Notch Vehicles in Jefferson, Wisconsin is a great place to find a classic muscle car for less money. It’s their specialty. Take this 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 XL with a 390 big block, for instance. They say it was a California car that was ordered in Corinthian White with the rare Select Aire (air conditioning) option. It was purposely ordered from the Los Angeles plant for California driving. Top Notch even tells us they still have the original window sticker. Read their extensive history on this one. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. This is a pretty rare muscle car for the price. They are asking $14,995.

1923-Ford-T-BucketThat big K&N Velocity Stack Air Cleaner atop the intake manifold looks formidable as you get your first look at the 1923 Ford T-Bucket from Springfield, Wisconsin. The seller says it is just a cool little hot rod with blue ghost flames and a fiberglass body. He says it has a Chevy 350, TH350 automatic transmission, Edelbrock Performer intake, B&M shifter, bucket seats, posi rear end and new tires. Notice that it has a Grant GT steering wheel which is removable for getting in and out real easily. You have to admit it looks like a lotta’ car for the money. That price will make it one of our premier DEALs of the DAY this week! The asking price is only $9,500. Man, that’s just pocket change!

1967-Cadillac-DeVille-ConvertibleIt is hard for our younger generations to understand the status of owning a Cadillac convertible back in the day. It was the icon of American luxury cars. Country Club parking lots were filled with them. Owning a Cadillac meant you had made it (whether you actually had or not.) When I see this 1967 Cadillac DeVille Convertible here in parade trim it reminds me of that. Just the size of this car commands respect. The ride was all Cadillac. The seller from Sarasota, Florida says it has air conditioning, new tires, perfect chrome, original leather interior, and he indicates that everything works and that it is mechanically sound. That’s enough to make it a DEAL of the DAY in the coming week! The asking price is affordable at $17,000.

1950-Willys-Jeepster-ConvertibleSome of our readers are getting to know the name Country Classic Cars, a family run classic car dealership that you will find along Historic Route 66 in Southern Illinois. They specialize in driver class cars which they pass on to the public at very low prices. They have another rare find in our DEAL of the DAY again today. It is a black 1950 Willys Jeepster Convertible. The Jeepster was only produced from 1948 through 1950 back when the company was called Willys-Overland. It was the last true phaeton passenger car produced in America. They say it has a new interior and a good top. This one has a V6 engine with dual exhaust. In its day it was considered a sports car. And now you can buy it for just $9,550. This DEAL of the DAY will be a great addition to any collection.

1971-Oldsmobile-Cutlass-ConvertibleNewsletter readers have often heard us remark that Chevelle SS convertibles are “as rare as frog hairs.” Well, I’m here to tell you that Oldsmobile Cutlass convertibles are even harder to find. Options include: bucket seats, console, 350 Rocket V8, automatic transmission, air conditioning, power top, power steering, power brakes and dual exhaust. This car was ordered right back in the day.
